Life in prison? the only one who went to trial pleaded guilty and got 18 months with about 8 of them on house arrest with a Foster parent and weekend passes and the right to attend school. No one is getting anything like life in prison.

Yes, there are racist communities in the southern US, when they start putting up nooses, using the N word, beating up black kids, and overprosecuting the Jena6, giving them years and/or decades in jail for a fight its pretty ridiculous. I agree about the black community needing to step up and adress its issues. But I dont see what that has to do with this issue.

The black kids who beat the white kid included the one black kid who got beaten by a bunch of white kids days before. The white kid also taunted the black kid who got beaten before the fight, that's what lead the black kids to beating the white kid up. Also, a white guy pulled a shotgun on some black kids, and when the black kids took the gun from him, the police charged the blacks with theft...?? In the end, it's not about race at all, it's about sad ignorant fucking kids. black or white.

black people have been oppressed for over 300 years. There have been countless numbers of faceless blacks murdered, beaten, ridiculed, and humiliated. And now these Jena 6 boys deserve life in prison because they jumped 1 white boy? they didn't even kill him. This is nothing compared to what blacks have endured for many centuries.
